Genesis 24:1-51 Isaac and Rebekah
During our discussion of this story, I pointed out how Abraham's servant immediately begins to praise and thank God for answering his prayer by sending Rebekah to him. We talked about how God answered our prayer in giving Daddy a job. Brisa asked if we could praise and thank God for Daddy's new job, and for our wonderful new friends at The Word at Shaw. So we stopped and took some time to pray! This truly warmed my heart today.

The Ass and His Driver
Yes, today I also had the opportunity to explain why we were going to substitute the word "donkey" every time we saw the word "ass." Fun times.
Brisa narrated the story when we were finished. She gave a solid effort. I was pleasantly surprised because she has been very against narration in the past.
Platypus from Nature's Children series of books.
We added the words monotreme and echidna to our vocabulary.
Then we took a break and did some stretching and singing. We sang three songs in Spanish:
Las flores se inclinan
Jonas no hizo caso
Cristo me ama
We played a game I made up for learning sight words. For each sight word read correctly the girls could take one step. The goal was to get across the room. They didn't quite make it all the way across, so we are going to try again tomorrow.
We rounded off the day with some work in their phonics notebooks, some handwriting practice, and some picture study. No dictation today.
We had a full and productive day in spite of how badly I was feeling. I think I will take my cue from Brisa and praise and thank the Lord for it!
